Gartner just published new research defining the emerging AI context platform market. Flexor was mentioned among the companies pioneering this space, in the unstructured data category.

What the research does

It maps the whole space: 6 core submarkets, 10 adjacent ones, and 5 dimensions for telling technologies apart.

That structure is the useful part. There is a lot of confusion in this market right now, and teams evaluating “context” for their agents often end up comparing technologies that solve genuinely different problems. A map like this is a great asset for companies trying to make sense of it all, especially those actively defining how their data is prepared, retrieved and managed for AI agents.

Why an emerging category looks like this

Broad agreement that business context is the bottleneck. No agreement yet on what solving it takes.

That gap is exactly what a new category looks like before it settles, and it is where the most interesting conversations happen. Everyone talking to enterprise data and AI leaders right now hears the same thing: the models are ready, the agents are built, and they still do not understand the business well enough to be trusted in production.

Where unstructured data fits

Most of what an agent needs to know about a business was never in a table. It lives in emails, PDFs, call transcripts, support tickets, CRM notes and messages. More than 80% of enterprise data is unstructured, and that is where the institutional knowledge sits: the terminology, the exceptions, the history behind decisions.

That is the problem Flexor works on. ACE, our AI Context Engine, unifies, standardizes and enriches unstructured data from any source and type, and pre-processes it into AI-ready context before it ever reaches the AI. Being named in the unstructured data category reflects where we think this market is heading, and it is good to see the category being defined with that distinction built in.
